PROFILE AND PHILOSOPHY

David Hidalgo Architects (DHA) has been in continuous practice for more than 20 years. DHA was founded by David J. Hidalgo, a registered architect (California No. C19027, Arizona No. 41650 , Texas No. 18646, Georgia No. RA011825 and Nevada No. 5848) who graduated (1982) from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-arc) where he achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. David J. Hidalgo is a member of the American Institute of Architects (A.I.A.) and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).

David’s extensive travels have taken him through numerous study tours which have greatly influenced the nature of his practice to date. Through his visits to such diverse locations, David was exposed to various architectural forms, further inspiring his work by adding dimension and sensitivity to style. During his participation in an exchange program at the Universidad Autónoma Beníto Juárez de Oaxaca in Mexico, David became well-versed in Mexican colonial and vernacular architecture, as well as the study of pre-Colombian cultures and artifacts, studies which bear constant influence in his work today. David’s dynamic and attitude towards architecture is complemented by his attention to detail.

DHA projects have included commercial centers throughout Southern California, Arizona, Texas, Georgia and Nevada with special emphasis in the renovation and rehabilitation of aging retail shopping centers. In low economic ethnic neighborhoods.
